7/10/1992	SROSS-C placed in orbit. Indian National Satellite (INSAT-2A), first indigenously-built satellite of second-generation INSAT series launched from Kourore. This is more operational multi-purpose communication and enhanced meteorology satellite. It is still in service.

5/23/1965	Venkat Woorkeri Raman, cricketer (Indian slow left-arm all-rounder), was born.
5/26/2000	Prabhakar G. Surur (93) died in Mumbai.
1/19/1963	Kuladhor Chaliha, one of the pioneer Congress leaders of Assam, passed away.
1/19/1963	Malik Kafur, Alauddin Khilji's Commander, won the impregnable fort of Devgiri. The fort was entered by the enemy. Raja Ramdeva was taken prisoner and sent to Delhi where Alauddin recieved him untill his death in 1312.
