9/8/1911Anand Gopal Sheorey, great Hindi writer, litterateur and journalist, was born at Sausar in Madhya Pradesh.
11/1/1967Old Punjab, after first partition in 1947, was again seperated into two new states of Punjab and Haryana on linguistic basis, and Chandigarh became a Union Territory.
10/29/1952Amalgamation of the Steel Corporation of Bengal with Indian Iron and Steel Company Ltd. to be effective from 1st January 1953 under the latter's name.
9/21/1996Apang (Legislative Party leader of Arunachal Congress) sworn in as Arunachal Pradesh chief minister again.
